IT Project Manager
Working at Vale since graduated in January, 1987, most of the time doing IT project management. Before the current position, the most recent projects under my supervision were:
From October/2005 to September/2006, I was in charge for project management and information technology services delivery tracking at Vale International Office in St. Prex, Switzerland.
From May/2002 to September/2005, I was in charge for the IT infrastructure team in ELO Project. This is the project for Oracle E-Business Suite ERP implementation in Vale and its 30 controlled and affiliated companies.
From Sep/2004 to April/2005, I was in charge for the IT infrastructure team in VISA Project. This is the project for Oracle E-Business Suite ERP implementation in the companies Albrás and Alunorte.
From Jan/2001 to April/2002, I was responsable for the day to day production routine management and also project management for the IT infrastructure activities involving UNIX middle tier enterprise applications at Vale.

Researcher in Combinatorial Optimization
My main research interests are in Metaheuristics to solve combinatorial optimization problems that comes from the real life industrial operational environment.
Currently I am more focused in railroad yard operational planning, more specifically, routing and scheduling decisions for a heterogeneous fleet of switch engines in order to serve a set transportation requests. The problem is related to the multiple-vehicle pickup and delivery problem with time windows and capacity constraints.
