Short biography
I was born in the mid 1960's in a little Brazilian town called Teófilo Otoni, which is located in the countryside of Minas Gerais State in Brazil. Teófilo Otoni was founded in 1878 and nowadays it has around 250.000 inhabitants.
In the early 1970´s, I moved to Vitória, located on the Brasilian coast, in the state of Espírito Santo, and from that time on, this city became the place for the most important conquers in my academic, personal and professional life. Vitória is the place where I met my wife and where my sons were born. I also got my graduation and Master degrees there, and worked there for most of my life.
Arts
My sense of listening overlaps the other senses.
The kind of songs I like most are Rock and Pop Music. Supertramp , Andrew Lloyd Weber, Madonna, Laura Pausini (Italian singer) and Kid Abelha (Brazilian band) are some of the authors, singers and bands I like most.
I like watching movies very much too. As of today, The Fugitive , The specialist, Back to the Future series, Star Wars series, The Fifth Element and Along Came a Spider are the movies I liked most. Harrison Ford and Sean Connery are my preferred actors, but I also enjoy watching movies staring Julia Roberts, Angelina Jolie and Sandra Bullock, because they are great actresses carrying the benefits of a remarkable prettiness. The same is true for the brazilian actress Luana Piovani. Besides those pretty women, there are also some outstanding Brazilian acting stars like Fernanda Montenegro.
To close this list, I would like to say that, in my opinion, if we are talking about shows and dance and music and acrobacy ... there is nothing more amusing than the Cirque du Soleil and their skillful way at exercising their artistic dexterity...!

Tourism
Since I've started working, I began collecting some travel experiences. I've already visited many places in Brazil, from south to north, sometimes in local tour and other times in professional missions. I've also been abroad a few times on tour or on business, so I had the chance to visit Argentina, USA, Bahrain and some cities in Belgium as well as a couple of cities in its neighboring countries Luxembourg, German, Netherlands, England and France.

Hobbies
My preferred hobby are surfing (on the web), cycling, watching movies and going out to eat, drink and talk away.
I like playing chess, however, I don't play it regularly, so, at the moment I am still a beginner-level player. Another board game I like is a card game called 'spades'. It's played in a group of four. I learned how to play this game on the internet and today I play it in my personal computer, my PDA or on a table, with real cards, together with relatives or friends (this is the best way to play it!). In 2006, my friend Bruno Marchal has presented to me a board game that I had never heard about before: The Hex-Game. I found it very interesting at first sight. Besides these board games, I enjoy working with the following sciences: computer science, mathematics, engeneering and the blending of these three sciences to build up better ways to make things work. These subjects make me very fascinated, so, hobby, academic and work activities are difficult to distinguish for me when I am talking about them.

I could not finish this web page about me without telling about my wife and my two sons, my mother (my father has passed away), my two brothers and their wives, sons and daughters, the family of my wife, my current friends and all my new friends to come. Every one of them contributes to my happiness and makes me enjoy this wonderful life... by the way, in my opinion, Love, Family and Friendship are the most valuable goods we may have!
